The PTEA is completed online in a Pearson test centre. It takes around three hours, including an optional ten-minute break. Reports are available within five working days of takin the test; they show your overall score on a scale from 10 to 90. As well as scores for communicative skills (reading,
Writing, Speaking and listening) and enabling skills (grammar, oral fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary and written discourse). The overall score is mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Course Description
The course provides rigorous exam training for high-achieving students while continuing to develop language awareness and communication skills. This intensive course for the Pearson Test of English Academic exam consists of a coursebook and MyEnglishLab. This combination of components will prove to satisfy students` practice needs and allow them to achieve their full potential.
Aim of Course
Students of minimum A2 CEFR level and 42 on the Global Scale of English can attend this course. The course aims to guide and assist students to score the minimum 65 in the PTEA.

The Foreign Language Proficiency Examination (YDS) is a foreign language exam held centrally by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) upon the instruction of the Council of Higher
Education (YÖK). In YDS, belongs a multiple-choice test method that measures foreign language knowledge in terms of grammar, reading, comprehension and vocabulary. The exam is administered three times a year.
Candidates for this test include:
- Associate professors, doctoral and artistic proficiency candidates.
- Undergraduate program graduates who will enter master's programs.
- Students who are in the last year of their undergraduate programs or in the year before their last year, and who want to study for a master's or doctorate degree.
- Working in any public institution and not receiving language compensation or overseas duty etc. Those who want to determine their level of foreign language knowledge.
- Candidates who will take the Medical Specialization Exam (TUS) or the Dentistry
Specialization Exam (DUS).
- Among the candidates who will take the KPSS exam in order to become public personnel, those who want to determine their foreign language knowledge level in line with the request of the public institution they want to work for.
- University or college graduates who want to determine their level of foreign language
knowledge, even if they do not work or intend to work in any public institution.

The aim of the course is to prepare the students so that they can:

topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.
• interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular
interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
